This has been the best first date ever! Earlier on, I had done some research into what is considered a successful first date. However, I instead fell into the black hole that is Reddit and the worst dates to happen to humanity. In the end, I figured that as long as we got some food and enjoyed each other’s company, then that was all I needed. But add in a little violence? Well, hands down- Best. Date. Ever.

I look down at the man lying in a heap on the ground as my three older brothers all mess about putting tech into places and the like. I had wondered earlier on if Rhodie had noticed the audience we had. None of the men were sitting together and yet they all somehow ended up in the same diner, drinking coffee and wearing Carhartt jackets.

When I saw the scrawny one and the bald one head to the restroom straight after Rhodie, I knew that the last one was on me. So, like the level-headed woman I am, I headed to the back of the diner, beelining to the ladies’ room, grabbing Rosie’s oversized pepper mill off the counter on my way. By the time I reached the entrance to the hallway the third guy, stocky and covered in tattoos, grabbed my left arm, spinning me towards him, the momentum allowing me to bring the largest pepper mill in Texas into direct contact with this guy’s face. He hit the deck out cold before I called Tav for a pickup. Bumping into Rhodie and getting the hottest kiss I’ve ever had was just the icing on the cake. I feel Rhodie take my hand.

“Come on Chewy, lets go for a ride” I follow him through the diner and watch as he pulls a wad of bills from his wallet, handing it all to Rosie before leaning in and giving her a kiss on the cheek “Sorry about the mess in the Men’s Rosie.”

“Nonsense! I’ll not have that type of trash in here. You did good.” Rosie says whilst patting him on the shoulder. He gives her a little squeeze of the hand before we head out the doors.

He gets on his bike, standing her up and kicking away the kickstand. I place my foot on the foot peg and throw my other leg over, nestling in behind him, arms curved around his waist. He takes off and I lean my face against his shoulder, letting his spiced leather scent fill my lungs. Never in my life have I been this relaxed with someone who wasn’t my family. He takes us through the outskirts of Rose Grove, building up speed, the wind blowing my hair around us, the thrill overtaking me.

I hold on tight as we make sharp turns, pressing myself closer to his back. I want to feel every part of him. We ride for what seems like hours, the problems we have with Kraykowski and now the Dark Riders MC, unable to take my mind off the man in front of me.
